Year 4 at the Street Elite Sport Festival - Thursday 9th June 2022
On Thursday 9th June 2022, 30 children from Year 4 classes were invited to attend the ‘Street Elite’ Sports festival, hosted by Berkeley Homes, the Berkeley Foundation and the Change Foundation, at the Green Quarter in Southall. It was a fantastic day full of new activities to try and other schools to say hello to. Around 200 children from all over Ealing came to this event, ranging from Year 3 all the way up to Year 9. Blair Peach children were able to try out football (with coaches from Southall FC and Chelsea FC), NFL Flag Football, Handball, Tennis, Street Dancing, Dodgeball and Juice Biking. It was a hugely successful day and everyone had a great deal of fun in the sunshine!
The day started by going to school. This day was the best! I give very big thanks to Blair Peach for taking us to play tennis, football, NFL Flag, juice bicycling and street dancing with all the amazing people. We didn’t get to do handball or boxing, but it was fun anyway! – Lamis 4M
My favourite part was street dancing because the mayor of Ealing was dancing with us! – Fiya 4S
My favourite part was the street dancing. I learned lots of new moves. What made me curious was during the juice bicycle, when they put the smoothie cup on the stand and when you peddle on the bike the smoothie mixed. It was great and in the end we got free fruit! I really wanted to go zorbing, but we had no time. I was so happy. This was amazing! – Thanshika 4M
We went to the Green Quarter and met other people and coaches, who were friendly. First I did football, then handball. During lunch me and my dad went up to the boxing coaches and I did a little bit of boxing. After lunch it was dodgeball and street dance and juice bikes! My dad coming was great. There were also lots of other schools that came as well. – Hamaad 4S
Today I really enjoyed all the activities. My favourite activity was street dancing because it was fun and also the mayor of Ealing joined in! Unfortunately, we didn’t complete every activity that was there and I was really looking forward to trying zorbing and boxing. The worst part was that we ran out of time at the end of the day and I didn’t get a chance to do the juice bicycle or drink the smoothie! Overall though the day was AMAZING! – Mim 4M
My favourite part of the sports day was being able to go to a different place and doing the juice bike activity because you got to drink what you blend. – Alexandra 4S
When we went to the Street Elite festival we say the Ealing mayor! My favourite part was football and we scored 7 goals. We had two very good players. There were so many different schools playing! I really wanted to do tennis, boxing and zorbing but we didn’t have time. At first, I thought street dancing was boring, but then I got the hang of it and enjoyed it too. I felt sorry for our other classmates who didn’t come. – Alina 4S
