Oracy Stars

At Blair Peach Primary School, we place oracy at the heart of our curriculum. Across all subjects, pupils learn to express their ideas clearly, listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions and take part in respectful discussions. By the time they leave us, children are confident communicators who can explain their thinking and use language effectively in different situations.

Every month, pupils from across the school are recognised as Oracy Stars for their outstanding speaking and listening skills. They receive:

⭐ an oracy certificate
⭐ 5 house points
⭐ their name celebrated on the Oracy Wall in the KS2 corridor

Two pupils each month also receive a Headteacher’s Award, earning themselves 10 house points.

All pupils selected show:

⭐ confident speaking
⭐ clear expression of ideas
⭐ excellent listening
⭐ respectful discussion
⭐ strong teamwork and turn‑taking
