Height and Weight checks for children in Reception and Year 6

Each year in England, school children in Reception and Year 6 have their height and weight checked at school as part of the National Child Measurement Programme. Height and weight measurements are used to calculate weight status. We collect this information because it is in the public interest to understand how many children are very overweight, overweight, healthy weight or underweight.

The checks are carried out by trained school nurses or trained health care providers. Children are measured fully clothed, except for their coats and shoes, in a private space away from other pupils.

Your child will take part in this year’s programme on Wednesday 27th November at 9.00 am.

Withdrawing your child from the National Child Measurement Programme

If you are happy for your child to be measured, you do not need to do anything.
If you do not want your child’s height and weight to be checked, or your child has a medical condition that affects their height or weight please let us know using the contact details provided below:

Relationship and Sex Education - Parent Workshop on Wednesday 3rd April at 9.00am

Please take careful note of the following changes to parking outside of the school. Drivers were previously allowed a 10 minute grace period in resident parking bays, but this will not be available from the week commencing 22nd April.  Vehicles parking in contravention of the restrictions will be issued with warning notices for a period of two weeks.

Please find attached a letter from Berkely West Thames regarding further road improvement works on Beaconsfield Road West Access (junction with Ranelagh Road).  The work will be starting from Monday 4th February and be completed by 11th March 2019.  We are aware that this will cause disruption for some parents dropping their children to school in the mornings.

Please note that children should come in at the normal time of 8.45am, and line up in the school playground (Year 1-6).  Nursery timings are from 8.30am.
