Florence Nightingale - Monday 18th May 2020
Everyone knows Florence Nightingale as the world’s most famous nurse.
2020 has been designated the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife in honour of Florence Nightingale’s bicentenary.
International Nurses Day which was 12th May is also her 200th birthday.
Florence Nightingale is well-known as the founder of Modern Nursing and remembered for her pioneering work with hygiene and particularly ‘washing hands’ which is most relevant to the current pandemic.

Friday 8th May - VE Day: Victory in Europe Day
I’m sure that many of you know that this Friday, the 8th May is VE Day: Victory in Europe Day and it is the 75th Anniversary this year.
Even though ‘we are all staying at home’ – there are many informative videos and links for our pupils to watch, follow and enjoy with their parents so that we can all still join in with celebrations.
