Welcome to 2 Moon's Class Page!

We hope you enjoy reading about and looking through some of our pictures of things we’ve done.  Do you have any ideas for this page? Why not let your teacher know!

Spring 2019

During E-Safety Week Year 2 explored how to and why we should keep our personal information private online. We then sorted pictures that are okay to share online and which picture we should keep offline because they give away our personal information.

In P.E we have been observing how our heart rate changes when we are exercising. We have had fun using the apparatus and learning how to balance.

During R.E we learnt about the Sikh religion and made our own Chauri’s. They are used to keep the Guru Granth Sahib clean.

This term we had a very special visitor come to our school. Florence Nightingale told us all about the Victorian era and showed us how to take care of wounded soldiers.
Autumn 2018

2 Moon enjoyed learning about the story of Diwali and acting it out in front of the whole school. We also made Diva lamps out of clay.

We visited Hampton Court and learnt about Tudor Times from a special speaker named Lady Beth. She taught us about Tudor artefacts and showed us how to dance like a Tudor.

We celebrated Christmas at the local Church where we listened to the Christmas story and sang carols.

An artist visited our class in September 2018 and helped create an underwater painting. We learnt how to use different shades of blue and learnt how to paint using shapes. We used the paintings to decorate our school.

We are now learning to answer addition and subtraction word problems using bar models to help us.
In Maths this term we have been developing our number skills using a part whole model and a place value chart. We have also been learning to compare numbers using the greater than, less than and equals to symbols.
We enjoy doing speed sounds in Phonics.
